VESTENAMER® rubber additive increases the performance of golf balls.

The polyoctenamer VESTENAMER with its unique properties can be used as a blend with other elastomers as material for golf balls cores and intermediate layers in modern golf balls. 

An increasing number of layers generally improves the performance of the golf ball. Studies show that increasing the number of layers would prevent the ball from excessive vibration during trajectory motion while converting the kinetic energy more effectively into propelling the ball further. Intermediate layers with VESTENAMER® composition can be molded around the core and cross-linked. Such cores and intermediate layers exhibit low compression, improved resilience and still having a soft ‘feel’ or ‘touch’ when hit. Also the coefficient of restitution (s.c. COR index) is improved by VESTENAMER and allows higher flight velocities and hence longer flight distance.
